Akae Bowl – The Game
Like a childhood memory
Designed by Swiss illustrator Fanny Dreyer, the Akae collection was inspired by the ancient red porcelain of the same name produced in Arita as early as the 17th century. On these imperfectly shaped, ivory-glazed pieces, the artist has created a nostalgic world of children and animals drawn from both European and Japanese folklore.
The illustrations in this collection are transferred by hand onto the glazed ceramic, creating slight variations in layout from one piece to another.
