Set of 5 sculptural candles made from wax harvested from sumac trees, which were imported from the Okinawa archipelago during the Edo period. These trees have been selected for use in candle-making by Takazawa, which has been making authentic Japanese candles with different types of all-vegetable wax since 1892. This type of candle offers a larger, brighter flame and leaves a minimum of residue when burnt.
