Sakura Petty Knife
A rustic-looking knife crafted with rare expertise
This paring knife features a fine, lightweight blade that is easy to handle, ideal for peeling, shaping, slicing fruits and vegetables, or chopping herbs.
The blade is hand-forged, and the black patina formed during quenching (cooling) is left as-is to give a rustic appearance. The Yasugi steel used for this knife is produced in Shimane Prefecture. Only about fifty artisan blacksmiths in Japan are still able to forge these knives. The handle is crafted from a hand-carved segment of real cherry wood, making each piece unique. Available in a natural finish or coated with black Urushi vegetable lacquer.
